My two grandsons, age 8 and 4 yrs old fight and argue from the time they open there eyes,?
Both my grandsons are constantly fighting and arguing. I'm at my wits end. I have tried everything I could possibly think of, but nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any ideas what I can try? I really hope so. Thanks!!!
Need more info Grandma......it sounds like you have them a lot....maybe they live with you? Or you watch them while mom/Dad is at work.....I'm not sure what the situation is.
If they live with you or spend a great deal of time with you.....there is a big age difference between these little guys......do they have their own space at your house? I would give the eight year old a place where he has HIS things that the little guys isn't allowed to touch. And maybe a certain amount of time he is allowed to enjoy his own space. Does the older one have friends in your neighborhood? Does he get to go play with the kids?
It kinda sounds like they are together a lot.....could you imagine having someone follow you...copy everything you do....all day long? I know the little guy just wants to be big....just like his brother, but Lordy....I don't want someone on my tail all the time.
If they only come to Grandmas house to visit.....I would say take turns. One visit is for the older, one visit is for the younger and the next is for both. That way you will get to ENJOY the grandkids growing up....rather than play referee all the time. And the kids will get to REALLY enjoy Grandma too. I am sure Mom/Dad don't have the time, patience, and wisdom you have to give them all that you can. As I am sure you know.....it's different when it's someone else’s kid....you can spoil the heck out of them and show them all kinds of things.......that us parents really can't seem to fit into our busy lives of making sure everything is done.
I just thought....maybe they are on a long term vacation with you......... Can you please add a comment so I know how much time and how often the kiddos are with you.....it really will make a difference in the answer.
