Is my skin care routine missing anything or do I use too much?
Am:
Exfoliate with Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Daily Scrub
Cleanse with L'Oréal Paris Perfect Clean Soothing Foaming Cream Wash
Moisturise with Nivea Oil Free Moisturising Fluid.
I also use the Garnier roll on under my eyes and Nivea Visage Aqua Sensation Anti-Shadow Eye Cream.
If I am going out I also apply some suncream with spf 30
PM:
Makeup remover: Garnier fresh Essentials, followed by body shop eye makeup remover and a cleanser. I always remove my makeup twice
Exfoliate: St Ives - once a week
Cleanser: No7 Hot cloth cleanser.
Serum: No7 beauty Serum, only on really try areas
Moisturiser: L'oreal youth code
Twice a week I use a clay mask and pore strips on my nose. Once a week I put on anti dark circle gel patchs under my eyes. Am I using too much or am I missing anything? I'm 19 years old, pretty clear skin. Only get spots sometimes but I have blackheads all over my nose and on my chin.
Do NOT use just soap and water. It can be extremely drying and it does not help to deep cleanse. Remember, the skin on your face and neck is different from the skin on the rest of your body!
What you need to include in your routine are toners and treatments! Some cleansers will be a 2in1 cleanser and moisturizer, so you can look for that to save some time. Other toners are a 2in1 toner and treatment. It is really essential to use both.
If you are getting random blemishes, I recommend using a spot treatment like Mario Badescu drying cream with aloe. It is GREAT to help calm swelling and it is a concealer, too, so it covers up the blemish. I use this on everything, from tiny whiteheads to boils. If you're on the go, I recommend the Hit the Spot treatment from Dermalogica's Clean Start line. It is packaged neatly so you can stick it in your bag and you can use it over makeup. Use it twice a day for a couple days and you will see the spot disappear.
As for your blackhead, make sure you exfoliate those areas very well. The toner and treatment should also help. You can look into serums as treatments. Another alternative is those blackhead strips.
